2005: Carrie Underwood wins the fourth season of American Idol. Michael Jackson is acquitted of child molestation charges. Destiny's Child disbands.
2006: Madonna begins her confessions tour in Los Angeles, tickets sold out worldwide within minutes. Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" sets record for most airplay ever.
2007: Led Zeppelin reunite in London for their first show in 25 years. Celine Dion performs for the final time after 5 years in Caesar's Palace Las Vegas.
2008: Lil Wayne's sixth album Tha Carter III sold 1 million copies in its debut week. David Cook wins 7th season of American Idol decided by 97 million votes, a record for the show.
2009: Michael Jackson dies unexpectedly due to cardiac failure. His personal doctor is suspected of giving him a lethal dose of Propofol, a powerful anesthetic.
