Rhythm and blues--also known as R&B or RnB--is a popular music genre combining jazz, gospel, and blues influences and was first performed by African-American artists. One significant feature of R&B music in the 1960s is Doo-wop. Doo-wop is a style of vocal-based rhythm and blues music, which was started in the black community and became popular in the 1950s to the early 1960s in the United States.
