Hip-hop may have been born in South Bronx in the mid-1970s, but mainstream America's first taste of it came in the 80s. The term "hip-hop" refers to four different elements: MCing (rapping), DJing, graffiti, and b-boying (breakdancing). Emphasizing these elements were a number of movies that focused on hip-hop including Wild Style, Beat Street, Krush Groove, Breakin, and the documentary Style Wars.
