Your first dance is a moment that should reflect how two individuals are coming together as one. Most bridal couples do this through their choice of song. Almost every romantic love ballad in existence has been used at some point for the first dance, but through it all there are some songs that remain first dance favorites.

Or at least they did until a certain video appeared on Good Morning, America. You can see the video by clicking on the left. Starting out with a traditional first dance song, that suddenly gets interrupted for a much faster song has now been all the rage (or at least that's what it seems on YouTube). Since it is impossible to go over all the possible types of wedding dances you can do, we are going to stick with the traditional, and some might say sappy, first dance songs.

If you and your fiancée already have a special song, then your choice has most likely already been made. If you do not, then it's time to start listening to some songs. The song you choose for your first dance should reflect your personality as a couple. Keep in mind that this is the song that will always remind you of your wedding day, as well as one that you will most likely play on your anniversaries or other special days.

When considering the wedding reception music for your first dance, you'll want to select something that means something to you as a couple. Was there a song playing the first time you met? What song was playing the first time you danced? Was there a song playing when he proposed? Was there a song playing the first time you kissed? What about the first time you said "I love you"? What was the theme song for the first movie you watched together? What about a special song from a concert you attended together? Is there a song always makes you think of each other?
