The Best Songs from Disney Movies
What are the best songs from Disney movies?
Everyone, it seems, grows up watching Disney movies. Living in America it is impossible to reach adulthood without seeing at least one
or two Disney movies. But Disney movies are not just for kids. Disney movies contain stories touch the hearts of both the young and the young at heart.
Disney made his first animated movie in 1937. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves premired on December 21, 1937. It became an
almost instant classic, was the highest grossing film of 1938 (before it was rudely ousted by Gone with the Wind and today ranks in the top fifty
on American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films of all time. It is hard to believe that this legendary film almost
didn't get made. Early in production, Disney was warned that he was going to far. The concept of creating such an extravagant family
film seemed ludicrous to his critics. It took him four years to finish Snow White, cost him $1.5 million dollars and almost
bankrupted the Disney company.
But Snow White ended up to be just the beginning of a lucrative film career. In the past sixty years Disney has released quite a few animated and live action films (or a mixture
of both) that have become beloved American standards such as Mary Poppins, Cinderella, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.
Most of Disney's movies are musicals while all of them contain songs that take on a life of their own. Who hasn't sung "Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it's off
to work I go" at least once in his or her life or "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" before having to face a difficult task?
The songs become part of our own traditions as people dance their first dances after their weddings to "A Whole New World" or "Beauty and the Beast."
