The Fourth of July is known for picnics, backyard barbecues, fireworks and the celebration of our nation's birthday.
The holiday was first observed in Philadelphia on July 8, 1776, at which time the Declaration of
Independence was read aloud, city bells rang, and bands played. It was not declared a legal holiday, however, until 1941.
As with any good party, you need to have good music. Of course, no song is more synonymous with our nation than our national
anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner." The song has been performed and recorded by so many people, you could probably play nothing
