What are the best rock songs for exercising and working out?

The best rock workout and exercise songs to use when you exercise are ones that are set for the type of workout you are planning. You can find many of the best rock songs to use for a workout listed here along with an estimated beat per minute (BPM) for each song. The BPM will give you an idea of how fast or slow the song is.

Chosing the right tempo of music can be very important as your body will naturally move itself to that tempo. Choose a tempo that is too slow or too fast, and you may spoil your workout. Here is a basic guideline of which tempos are good for different workouts:

Pick music that will gradually increase your tempo until you reach your optimum speed and then gradually decrease your tempo at the end of the workout. This will ensure that you are warming up and cooling down properly. Also, make sure you have enough music to last your workout. You do not want to run out of songs at the conclusion of your exercise, since this is the critical moment you may need them the most. Since most songs range in length from about 3 to 5 minutes long, plan on using at least 10 to 12 songs for a 45 minute workout.
